REVIEW: Koelf Petitfee Ruby Bulgarian Rose Hydro Gel Eye Patch

Happy Friday! Today’s review is on the Koelf Petitfee Ruby Bulgarian Rose Hydrogel Eye Patch, which I find handy for tired eyes.

I purchased this off Althea a couple of weeks back out of curiosity, and also partly because I’m going through a “rose- based” product phase now. It all started with the rose variant of the megurism steam eye mask I bought.

Needless to say, this is my current go-to item for lazy days.

Price: SGD $12 (I got mine from Althea)

Packaging: Screw top plastic jar, brand new tubs come with a foil seal to prevent leakage and preserve freshness

Scent: Rose, the scent is subtle and not overpowering

The product comes with it’s own spatula, allowing you to hygienically pick up each individual piece of the eye patch.

I recommend keeping the foil seal half intact on the tub, this prevents the serum from sloshing over the sides and making a mess. I typically do a quick tip of the tub to ensure that the top few eye patches get a dose of the liquid before application.

If you take a second look at the photo above, you may notice that the hydrogel slices have a slight gold iridescence (actually, the liquid too). The half-moon shape fits nicely under my eyes, and I like it that the apples of my cheeks get partially covered too. More bang for my buck perhaps?

Notably, despite a long shelf life, the hydrogels only have 2 months’ viability once opened. Each tub houses 60 pieces (30 pairs), and I wear them between 30-45 minutes.

Here are the advertised benefits:

So this is how the hydrogel slice looks  like in real life:

As I mentioned earlier, there is a gold sheen to the hydrogel. The pieces are surprisingly thick, maybe about 1-2mm in thickness and holds the serum well.

My usage experience:

I usually use these before bedtime or when I’m working on my laptop. The eye patches adhere well to my face and do not dribble or slide. The faint bulgarian rose scent acts as a nice mood lifter.

Throughout the application period of 30-45 minutes my under eye area felt cool. As the time goes by, the patches dry up and reduce in thickness. However, the cooling sensation remains.

After usage, my under eye area appeared to be plumper, brighter, and less sallow looking.

My rating: 5/5 (affordable, nicely scented, hydrates)

Petitfee also has other hydrogel eye patches which I will be clamoring to purchase and try. The EGF Gold & Spot is another favourite of mine.

Have you used the other variants before, or feel that there is any Petitfee item I have to try? Please share your experience with me in the comments! 🙂
